Description

A 2 or 3 day course that will focus on the proper procedure in the discovery and exhumation of buried remains and surface skeletons. Target Audience: This course is designed for law enforcement investigators, first responders and prosecutorial attorneys whose responsibilities would include the exhumation, examination and identification of deceased individuals. Course Objectives: The primary objectives are to provide the student with the skills needed to identify gravesites and to properly document, exhume, collect, process and preserve evidence. Also students will learn to approximately identify the race and sex of the skeletal remains. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: Examine topography layout for possible grave sites, describe procedure for proper exhumation of skeletal remains. Course Requirements: Complete attendance by all participants. Student participation to include: Classroom involvement, practical field exercise (exhumation), Crime scene techniques involving surface skeletons and buried bodies

Class Requirements: This class has a lot of hands on activity. Please dress according to the weather (No suits or ties) All participants must wear boots that are above the ankle. Due to the terrain we will be working in and around.
